Nany State overload?

I read this: http://www.cnn.com/2007/LIVING/wayoflife/07/24/left.to.die.ap/index.html and couldn't help but think that some people are expecting the government to do way too much for them. I mean yes, it's terrible that children have died because they were left in hot cars. But I'm not sure that an alarm is going to help them.

I think that you can't be the sharpest tool in the shed if you forget that you brought your kid with you. If you're that out of it, the alarm is probably just going to confuse you, not remind you that your firstborn is strapped in and shouldn't be left to bake. Mostly, you should be able to figure out not to cook your kids on your own. And if you can't, you probably shouldn't have had them in the first place.
