My new lathe
Powermatic Model 90I bought a new toy at a steal of a price. $190 for a Powermatic Model 90. With, at least in theory, a working 220 volt, single phase motor.
I'm missing a spur drive, and I'd like to replace the live center for a different one, and i need to buy a good tool rest. The one that came with it was severely abused in the high school shop, including both warping, and a spot where a broken bit had to be welded on. It's also missing the locking pin for the indexing head, which means taking the outboard faceplate off is a problem. Which means I also can't change out a belt, which could be a problem. I'll have to track down an indexing pin.
All in all, there's quite a bit of rehab work that I'll need to do. Plus I need to run power to the shed. But it's a very good place to be starting.
