Patio Construction
The is our patio construction project from spring of 2008. It's the compliment to the deck construction of late summer and fall of 2007.
This is the side of the stair, after all of the special cuts have been made.
This is the main field and the fan at the base of the stairs, finished.
This is the excavation for the patio. I tried to hand dig this, but my soil consists of roots with a little bit of sand mixed in. I had to break down and have somebody come in with an excavator to dig it out.
This saw did wonders for helping me finish the patio. The 10 inch blade cut the bricks in one pass, greatly reducing handling time.
A close up of me, since the overall shot doesn't really do it justice. Notice the color of my shirt. Notice also that my face seems fairly gray, even though right around my eyes is a normal pink color. That's all spray from the water saw, when I was cutting blocks to fit around the fan. For the next three hours I had my own private little snowstorm as the mud dried up and flaked off.
